Our Fuel Line Heat Shields: Rugged Protection for Racetrack Fuel Lines
When pushing the pedal to the metal on the racetrack, heat radiating from the engine&exhaust system can damage your brake lines, fuel lines, wiring harnesses,& cables decreasing their lifespan. Protect these lines with our fiberglass Fire Shield Sleeve™ fuel line heat shield & keep your vehicle cool both on/off the road.
Rugged Silicone Coating for Maximum Strength
The high-grade silicone rubber coating that we use on our Fire Sleeve tubing is resistant to most chemicals & won’t be damaged by hydraulic fluids, oils, or fuels. The patented coating protects the sleeve from damaging abrasion & prevents it from fraying prematurely. Use this sleeve’s broad-spectrum heat-reduction capabilities to bundle your wires, hoses,& cables together. Whether bundled or separate, our Fire Shield Sleeve™ will reduce & dissipate heat at temperatures of up to 500°F continuous or 900°F intermittent.
Ideal for Use with Our Heat Shrink Wrap
When you install the Fire Shield Sleeve™ on the fuel hose & brake lines, secure the sleeve to the fitting end of the hose with electrical tape to prevent fraying & cut the other end down to match the hose length. Remove the electrical tape & seal off the ends of your fuel line heat shield with our Heat Shrink Wrap & a heat gun. This final step keeps the heat inside of the hose & prevents it from radiating out.
Features:
- Silicone layer can be cleaned & protects against abrasion
- Helps to prevent vapor lock, protects wires from melting
- Reduces & dissipates heat
Fire Shield Installation Tips
Equipment needed: safety glasses, dust mask, gloves, scissors or utility knife
Cut to length
Pro Tip: Compress or “bunch” the sleeve length wise, and stretch the opening of the sleeve then slide over. It may also help to coat fitting or terminal with silicone or dry graphite spray before sliding over. To decrease the id of sleeve after it slides over fitting/terminal pull on both ends of the sleeve to stretch the length.
